I missed a driving lesson yesterday, I could have sworn it was for Friday 3.30, in fact I am pretty certain of it – but my instructor thinks differently, well what can you do – one of us is right anyway.
I am still working on this report, it sucks, I really want to get it finished ASAP but I know its going to take all weekend, and even if I finish it I still have to study for an assessment next week too – theres no way round it, so I have said goodbye to the weekend.
Ive found out that quiting smoking is hard! Can you believe it, I keep telling myself that Nicotine is more addictive than Heroin (though heroin is more painful, distressful etc to quit, its still a medical fact). And its especially hard when I have to study because theres no excuse for a coffee and a cigarette (check the coffee and cigarettes group on flickr :P ). To be honest I have only been half quiting, some days I might smoke some days I don’t, but I am cutting down a lot, almost to a quarter of what I smoked a month a go, which I am happy with – but to be honest once more, I do like to smoke though I am realizing every cigarette is going to catch up with me someday and I am sure it wont be pleasant.

The light is making me giddy..

September 25, 2007

It was my fist day back at Uni today.
Strangely enough it was nice being back, which surprised me, no one I know has dropped out which was also a nice surprise.

The first lecture scheduled in the timetable had the wrong room marked on it, but it gave us a good 15 minutes to catch up with everyone – until the lecturer, looking a bit out of breath located us and sent us off to another room. Coffee in hand I was ready for the lectures to start – but all we really got through was an Introduction to the year 2 modules – we did get to watch a video on bad practice – one of the modules this semester is going to be on recognizing structural and other faults in buildings.
I had a bit of hassle trying to get a replacement matriculation card today, was not the most pleasant hour and a half of my life.
I had to find the place to pay for it, I queued in the wrong line, and it was packed with international students for some reason, I think they were paying off their tuition fees – UK citizens get it for free.
I had a nice surprise when a girl from first year asked me for directions while I queued. I thought to myself, thats strange, do I look like I know my way around now? Hey I’m not a freshman anymore! Of course, I had no idea where M001 was and was absolutely no help apart from assuring her thats she’s on the right floor – but as I said it was a nice realization.
Queuing to pay for the matriculation card was only part of the hassle, I had to go and order and collect it, which meant another painfully long queue during which time I kept thinking – is this the right one? I had already been directed to the wrong desk before. Luckily it was, I got my card there and then and had my saas documents scanned – job done.

Anyways – after that I was free. I decided I would have a look at a few camera shops while I was in town. In a previous entry here I mentioned a few bits of kit I was going to get. I was looking for an external flash today – I spoke to a few salesman across town. One of them was really helpful – and I ended up buying the 430EX. Very pleased with it, I got a good price for it too – just waiting on a chance to use it properly now!! Here it is below.
